Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, GNIT has organised an one day webinar on AI and Robotics and the importance of electronics engineering in that field. Another 1 hour session on Higher Studies and Entrepreneurship was conducted after the webinar.
Mr. Sutanu Chatterjee who is currently pursuing his Master's Degree from the Department of Electronics and Nanoelectronics, Faculty of Electronics (ФЕЛ), Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University,The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation ,was the invited speaker of the session.
Near 150 students from 2nd/ 3rd year of ECE and 2nd year students of ETCE participated in the session. The webinar covered current trends in AI & Robotics and the role of Electronics Engineering in that field. This was followed by an interactive session with students.
In the 2nd session on " Higher study and Entrepreneurship" Mr. Chatterjee shared his experience as an Indian student in Russia. He talked about the importance of higher study and exams like GRE/ TOEFL/ IELTS etc. and their preparation process.
Sutanu is also the founder and CEO of Alternoid Electronics. The students were motivated by his words on entrepreneurship.
Participants were very enthusiastic about the event and the feedback was very good.They also did express their interest to attend such events in future.

B.Tech Final year and Pre-final year students of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology visited Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Maharatna CPSE), Rajbandh, Durgapur on 27th February, 2019.
Mr. Sayan Roy Chaudhuri and Mr. Koushik Pal, senior faculties of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department accompanied the students who received first hand experience on storage, distribution and handling of commercial hydrocarbon products, industrial safety practices, emerging technologies related to operation and maintenance etc.
Mr. Jaydeb Manna, DGM, and Mr. Sahoo, Senior officer, Pipelines Division, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, interacted and briefed about the system configuration of the terminal station.
